The Master of Sport Administration course, run by the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU), has been placed the second best European course in the 2017 by SportBusiness International Postgraduate Sports Course Rankings.
RIOU’s Rector Professor Lev Belousov says: «Even at the stage of program development, we had an ambitious plan to create the best educational product in the field of sports management with the aim to train
extra-classspecialists. Four years later since RIOU’s creation, I’m happy to say that we coped with this task. Our course „Master of Sports Administration“ was highly appreciated and internationally recognized. The university employs the best teachers from ten countries; excellent conditions for training are created; there is a demand for our graduates on the market and many of them work in Olympic and sports entities. However, we are not going to stop at what we have achieved, we will confidently move on — to the position of the world leader in sports business education».
Launched in 2012, the influential rankings attract entries from postgraduate sports management courses around the world, with results based on alumni experience, including quality of teaching, work placement opportunities, and employment success. Only courses which have been running for more than three years are surveyed, and it is the first time a Russian institute was featured.
Established as a legacy of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, the RIOU has provided students with volunteering and job opportunities at major sporting events, including the 2017 Formula 1 VTB Russian Grand Prix.
