Biography
Ms. Zelkova, the President of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, was born in 1969. She has a degree in journalism from the Lomonosov Moscow State University. During her studies, she worked for Sobesednik, a weekly, and Moskovskaya Pravda, a daily newspaper. After the events of August 1991, she was part of a group of young journalists working for Moskovskaya Pravda who spearheaded the reform of the newspaper. She continued working for Moskovskaya Pravda until 1995, first as a freelance correspondent, and then as a staff writer. 

In 1995 she left behind her career in journalism to join the communications department of UNEXIM. In 1996 she became an assistant (press secretary) to First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Potanin. In 1997 she returned to UNEXIM Bank to head the communications department. In 1998, Ms. Zelkova joined Interros as the Director of the Public Relations Department and a member of the management board, positions she held until March 2013. Since then, she has served as the Deputy CEO for Social Policy and Public Relations and a member of the management board of MMC Norilsk Nickel. She served as the chairperson of the board of directors of ProfMedia from December 2011 to March 2013; and then a member of the board from March 2013 to January 2014. From 2010 to 2013, she also sat on the board of MMC Norilsk Nickel.  Since 1999, Ms. Zelkova has been the General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation. 

In addition to her work in the private sector, from 2010 to 2014 Ms. Zelkova was a member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, a state institution representing civil society with a mandate to monitor the work of Parliament and other government bodies. There, she chaired the working group on philanthropy and was a member of the Commissions on Civil Society Development, and on Charity and Volunteerism. The Commissions developed a number of initiatives, introducing significant improvements to the legislative framework regulating philanthropy in Russia.


Since June 2015, she serves as Vice-President and Head of Social Policy and Public Relations Unit of MMC Norilsk Nickel.
Since October 2015, she serves as Senior Vice-President - HR, Social Policy and Public Relations.
   
Ms. Zelkova has received awards for her work in promoting philanthropy, notably the Order of Saint Olga, Equal of the Apostles in 2004, recognizing her efforts to strengthen the unity of Orthodox Christian nations, awarded by Patriarch Alexy II, and the Order of Friendship, a state decoration of the Russian Federation, in April 2012 in recognition of her charity work.
