The visit purpose was to estimate the progress of the downhill pistes construction and their readiness for Homologation. The FIS delegation included Chief Race Director World Cup Men, Gunter Hujara; Race Director World Cup Men Speed Events, Helmut Schmalzl; Alpine Skiing Continental Cup Coordinator, Markus Waldner; Chief Race Director World Cup Ladies, Atle Skaardal; Race Director World Cup Ladies Speed Events, Jan Tischhauser.

Mens and womens Olympic downhill pistes as well as the consolidated finish zone for all kind of downhill sports drew special attention of the delegation members.

Currently, 95% of earthwork on slopes where the Olympic competitions will take place is executed; the drainage system is ready; necessary deforestation is made. Works on power supply are carried out as well as the design of snow making systems, video surveillance, safety measures, etc.

Members of the international commission assessed the results of construction works made in 2008 and concluded that the work is going on schedule.
